Can I get treatment through the NHS instead of having to pay?
We do provide an NHS service. Your Greenwich GP needs to refer you for treatment on the NHS.
The timeframe for this process is not something that we can control.
If you have a GP outside of Greenwich borough, you will not be able to access the Oxleas NHS service, but you can still access our private service.
All profits from the provision of our private patient services are used to support the delivery of NHS clinical care for the benefit of all patients.
Is the private service better than the NHS service?
We provide a gold standard service regardless of whether you come to us through the NHS or privately.

Why does it take longer to get an appointment through my GP than privately?
Your GP needs to refer you to the Musculoskeletal Hub, run by Circle MSK, who then process the referral and offer you a choice of appointments with a number of providers. If you choose to be seen by Oxleas NHS, Circle MSK will send your referral to us.
Once your referral arrives with us, we can offer you an appointment rapidly. Unfortunately, we have no control over the other parts of the referral process, we are aware that it can take time. Once we have your referral our waiting times are very short.
Is this new private service an attempt to Privatise the NHS?
No. We are very proud of our NHS service and will continue to provide and build on this. Our private service will not detract from this.

If I have a GP in Greenwich, can I access the private service?
Yes you are welcome to use our private service. We will however ensure that you are aware of your entitlement to NHS care and advise you on how to access this.
How Many Sessions will I need?
Our clinicians will work with you to achieve your goals in the fastest time-frame possible.
How often will I need to attend?
After your clinician has assessed you, they will advise you of the diagnosis and discuss suggested options for treatment. Frequency of treatment will depend on your diagnosis.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring or wear clothes that you can move easily in, but will enable our clinicians to see the body part which is the problem. Shorts or trousers which can be rolled up are perfect. You may want to wear a vest top if the shoulders are involved.
Please bring a list of any medications that you are taking as well as any MRI or x-ray reports that you have previously had done.
How do I pay for my treatments?
We will ask you to pay for your appointment prior to attending. You can do this over the phone. If there are any extra costs incurred during the session, such as specialist treatment which you choose to have, you will be asked to pay for these straight after. We are only able to take card payments and cannot accept cash.
Are all the clinicians registered and qualified?
All our clinicians are highly qualified and regulated by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and undertake regular training to ensure the care they provide is of the top level. You can see more about them in the biography section and they will be happy to discuss their training with you, should you wish to know more.
